He was preceded in death by his grandmother Margaret Boldenow and uncle Derek Bachmeier. Jacob will be missed by his parents Rhett and Debra Boldenow; brothers: Andrew (Laura) Boldenow, Lucas Boldenow and Caden Boldenow; grandparents: Roger Boldenow and Ralph and Alexis Bachmeier; aunts and uncles: Justin (Kim) Boldenow, Heather (Chris) Pederson, Doug (Maia) Bachmeier and Joe (Karen) Bachmeier, and numerous cousins and other family members.
Born in San Antonio, Texas into an Air Force family, Jacob made his first move to a new city at 3-months old. Through the course of his first 18-years, he lived in Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, Germany, Japan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania before a repeat in Virginia. In the course of the multiple moves, he attended 7 different schools to include 3 high schools. Upon enrollment at the University of Minnesota, Jacob started his longest stint at a single school, and he thrived; graduating with both a B.S in Computer Science and a B.A. in History. Post-graduation, he continued to call Minnesota home with his first job at a consulting firm doing work in the Twin Cities for 3M and eventually transitioning to a job at Hydra Flex developing software that would ultimately lead to patents with his name included.
Jacob was loyal and devoted to his friends who were his chosen extended family. Having made friends around the globe, he could quickly make a friend in any room with his outgoing personality and was guaranteed to put a smile on faces within earshot.
An avid Packer fan, he owned stock in the franchise and loved to go to games at Lambeau Field. Jacob also loved to travel and needed no excuse to start a road trip to visit family, a friend, a tourist attraction or a favorite restaurant (on the East Coast). Through his teens, Jacob developed a passion for soccer and played competitively with both a German Football Club and on the Olympic Development Program. He continued to love the game and enjoyed a regular “friendly” match.
