Helen V. Wallace

Helen was born on Sept 16, 1936 to Mable and Ludwig Larson in Renville County, MN. She grew up on a farm in Bird Island, MN where she graduated from high school. On September 14, 1957 Helen married Thomas Wallace. They were married for 57 years and together raised three boys.

Throughout her life Helen had a passion for gardening. You would often find her planting, pruning or picking a variety of plants and flowers in her ever expanding flower beds. She worked at John Glenn Jr. High and the 4H Extension office. Helen was a member for many years at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was active in the choir and many other church groups. She spent much of her free time at Our Redeemer or with the lifelong friends she made there.

Helen will be deeply missed by her sons, Todd (Stephanie), Scott and Jon (Andrea); grandchildren, JT, Samantha and Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas.

Visitation will begin at 1pm until time of service at 2pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022. A private burial will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Ecumen Seasons at Maplewood for the excellent care Helen received while living there. And a special thank you to the Ecumen Hospice staff that cared for Helen in the most recent months.
