Gloria Mae Thomas

Treasured and Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend, Aged 76, passed away surrounded by loved ones on July 21, 2015. Gloria was born in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Joseph Augé and Mary Stiles. Gloria grew up in St. Paul's West Side and attended Humboldt High School where she graduated in 1958. Family and friends were Gloria's joy and passion. She worked as a Librarian and aide for many years at St. Michael's elementary school. She was an avid participant and leader in the St. Paul Girl Scouting organization. She worked as a dietary aide in the St. Paul school system, where she retired in 1995. Gloria was deeply devoted to her faith in the Lord through her daily rosaries; her strong commitment to her church, The Holy Family Maronite Catholic church -- where she was a member in the Holy Family Ladies Society; and by her loving acceptance and kindness to all whom she met. On any day, Gloria was just a phone call away for her children; grandchildren; sisters; nieces and cousins; and her many, many friends. She was an active listener, and her ability to support was beyond compare. And the comfort and entertainment brought by her numerous stories could sustain for hours. She was also a shining example to those whom looked up to her. The special joy in Gloria's life was spending time with her grandchildren: Matthew and Shannon, Grace, Victoria, and Neala. There was not a wall or flat surface in her home not covered with picture reminders of how much she truly loved every single one of them. She is preceded in death by husband, Raymond; sisters, Barbara Schoumaker and Jean Krawczewski. She will be deeply missed every minute of every day by her children, Raymond (Sandy), AnneMarie, Joseph, Martin, Elizabeth, and Robert (Megan); grandchildren, Matthew and Shannon, Grace, Victoria, and Neala; siblings, MaryLou Foster, Nancy Auge, William Auge, and Joe Auge; loving and devoted nieces. Also many other nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday, July 27, 2015 at Holy Family Maronite Church, 1960 Lexington Ave. S, Mendota Heights with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass. Private family interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
