Daniel was known for his sense of humor, wit, and charm. No matter the situation, he could always make everyone laugh. He was known for fishing, and always catching a fish. Dan, Susie and Scotty spent a lot of weekends at the Horseshoe Lake and Resort with Joyce and Roger. They would bring their camper trailer to campsites like Fish Lake Resort and Wagon Wheel Resort in Orr, MN.
Daniel was also an avid hunter with his brother David.
After his wife, Susan, passed away Dan and lifelong friend, Linda, would go fishing and spend time together. Even at the age of 76, He was still fishing at Horseshoe Lake Resort, but that all changed when he became a grandpa. He lived his life watching her grow.
She loved sitting on his lap watching boxing and scratching off lottery tickets. Skyler and Papa would watch shows like River Monsters, and old westerns. Skylar would sit on Papa’s lap and they would eat his favorite, Linders white chocolates together. He always loved when she came over. Kami loved taking pictures of the two of them, and Dan would say “Don’t you have enough pictures?” her response was always “no”.
Skyler loved bringing him dilly bars, which they both loved. Known for frying fish he caught at the lake, he had good times with her. He was so proud of Skyler, but most of all, the famous “good-byes” they’ve been saying for 12 years, Skyler would say “see you later alligator” which in return he would say “after a while crocodile” and she would say “so until we meet again, see you later alligator…”
Known for the best fish fryer and his sense of humor and wit.
