Christine Marie Lofton

Christine Marie Lofton, 67, a loving wife, devoted Mother and Grandmother, cherished sister, and kind friend passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, surrounded by family and friends as the hospital Chaplin sang one of her favorite songs “On Eagles Wings”.

She was born on December 26, 1955 to Guadalupe and Gudelia Diaz in St. Paul, MN.

As a loving wife Christine shared 51 years of marriage with John, creating a bond built on love, commitment, and shared values. Together, they weathered life’s joys and challenges, creating a home filled with warmth and love.

In her role of mom and grandmother, Christine embraced the joys of family life with open arms. She delighted in creating lasting memories with her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren, imparting wisdom, and leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Her nurturing spirit and unconditional love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of calling her Mom and Grandma.

Christine was also a beloved sister and sister-in-law, fostering strong connections and creating a supportive family network. Over the years, Christine enjoyed planning the annual family gatherings whether it be the Labor Day picnics, Christmas at St. Mary’s, or family reunions, people knew to expect her calling asking what they planned on bringing. Her kindness, compassion, and sense of humor endeared her to her siblings and extended family.

A woman of deep faith, Christine was a dedicated member of the catholic Church, finding solace and strength in her spiritual journey. Her unwavering faith was a guiding light that shaped her life and touched the lives of those around her.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents; Guadalupe and Gudelia Diaz, her brothers Tomas and Michael Diaz, her mother and father-in-law Rosia (MaDear) and Pearl Lofton, and brothers-in-law Joe Louis, Charles Lofton, Roy Lee Barber, and Donnie Preston Sr.

Christine is survived by her husband John Elee Lofton, their daughters; Justine Larson (Matthew Lipschultz), Rose (Donald) Hubbard, Carmelia (Scott) Haraldson, and Angela Lofton; favorite son Joshua Larson; grandchildren Olivia Rose Gaye Larson, Russell John Gudelia Larson, Elliot Moshe Pearl Lipschultz, and Stella (Bug) Pearl Hubbard: beloved cat, Cookie; siblings Robert (Pam) Diaz, John (Linda) Diaz, David (Sara) Diaz, Virginia Diaz, Vicki Diaz (Sister in law), Leonard (Val) Diaz, Delores (Doug) Thacker, Herlinda Diaz, Peterjohn (Maria) Diaz, Rebecca Diaz Parry, Susie Diaz, Joseph Diaz and a host of nieces and nephews.

A mass of christian burial for Christine will be held Monday, November 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 2119 Stillwater Avenue East, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55119, with a visitation one hour prior. Following the mass will be an interment at Elmhurst Cemetery, 1510 Dale Street North, St. Paul, MN 55117.
