October 26, 1996 -September 9, 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce Caleb Taylor, 27, of Stillwater MN, passed away unexpectedly on September 9th, 2024. Born to Michael and Paula Taylor, Caleb was number 5 of 8 children. He grew up on a beautiful and spacious green property with a white house in Forest Lake, MN where he developed his love for the outdoors and the country. He was raised by his adoring parents, who instilled in him a deep love for Christ and Scripture.
Caleb was preceded in death by grandparents, Harold and Shirley Taylor and Thomas and Marie Jackson and many aunts and uncles.
Caleb is survived by his loving wife of nearly 5 years, Sheleah; beautiful baby boy Isa; adoring parents, Michael and Paula; brothers and sisters, Michael (Lauren and Isla), Matthew (Anna and Noah), Sarah (Patrick), Miriam, Esther, Hannah and Stephen.
Some knew him by Caleb. Some Taylor. And some Cowboy. He had such a passion for life and cared deeply for those around him. He had a servants heart. He was the kind of person who would drop everything for someone in need. He just had to slip on his cowboy boots and fasten a knife to his hip. And you would never find him without his bronze cross necklace around his neck. He was a devoted Christian who walked faithfully with Jesus. Living a Christ-centered life was of utmost importance to him, and he eagerly embraced opportunities to discuss the Gospel and salvation with both friends and strangers.
Caleb had displayed his passion in caring for others while in the emergency department (ER) at both St. Joseph’s Hospital and Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He was truly a beacon of light in a dark place, and the ER staff will forever miss the sound of his cowboy boots echoing down its halls. Caleb also cherished the time he spent in South Carolina, working alongside his brother Michael on the roofing company they were building together.
Caleb had a deep love for adventure and the great outdoors. His truck was always equipped with a fishing pole, tackle box, and a shotgun during hunting season. He and his younger brother, Stevie, spent countless hours exploring the woods and lakes of Northern Minnesota, hunting and fishing together. Caleb also had a passion for music and a remarkable talent for playing by ear, with his favorite instruments being his guitar, piano, newly acquired trumpet, and, of course, his harmonica. In addition, he enjoyed sketching and drawing, creating countless cherished birthday cards for his loved ones.
Sheleah was the love of his life. They first met while working at St. Joseph’s ER, and their relationship was a perfect example of "opposites attract." Their initial spark led to a whirlwind romance, culminating in an engagement on Caleb’s birthday less than a year later and a joyous marriage shortly after. The couple enjoyed nearly five wonderful years together and were recently blessed with a beautiful baby boy, who arrived just 3.5 months ago. Caleb seamlessly embraced his role as a new father and was deeply in love with his son. He was the best Papa to Isa, who quickly became his pride and joy.
Everyone who knew Caleb recognized what an incredible person he was. To know him was to love him. It is heart-wrenching to think that Isa will grow up without the physical presence of his father. In light of this, we hope that friends and loved ones will share their stories and memories of Caleb. This way, Isa can come to know his Papa through the words and recollections of those who knew him well.We invite all who knew Caleb to write down their stories, memories, or reflections on how he touched their lives. Please place your written tribute in a sealed envelope and deposit it into the collection box that will be available at the funeral and the celebration of life.
Thank you for helping us preserve Caleb’s memory in such a meaningful way!
