Barbara, resident of Saint Paul and previously of Spokane, Washington, died October 22, 2022. Born April 21, 1931, in Vancouver, B.C. to Edgar and Barbara (Nicolson) Brown, she always took pride in her country of birth. Barbara lived in Vancouver until she married her beloved Aubrey (Jim) in 1953 and moved to Seattle. Jim’s work took them to New York in 1956, and Minneapolis in 1962. Upon Jim’s retirement in 1982, they moved to Four Lakes, Washington, where they built their retirement home. They made friends for life everywhere they lived. Barbara (finally!) became a naturalized citizen in 1993. Always active in her church communities, Barbara volunteered much of her time at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spokane. She returned to Saint Paul in 2019.
She is predeceased by her husband, sister Margaret Fyfe-Ernest, brother David, and infant twins Kathleen Ann and Michael David. She is survived by daughter Lynn (Joe) Lucking, granddaughter Kendra (James) Charles, and great-granddaughters Caroline and Anastasia.
Memorial Service Tuesday, November 15 at 2 p.m. at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 1074 Idaho Ave., St. Paul, 55117, with visitation one hour prior. Tea to follow at St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, 901 Portland Ave., St. Paul, 55104.
