ST. MARTINVILLE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Roland Paul Jones, Jr., age 61, at 11:00 am on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Fr. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate the service. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home from 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday, December 27, 2019.
Mr. Jones was a certified welder in the oilfield industry for the past 20 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and going to the casino. He was a loving man who cherished time spent with his family and visiting with them on the phone.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Nancy Mitchell Jones of St. Martinville; his children, Rollins Jones (Patrice) of Houston; Rolonda Benoit (Dennis, Sr.) of St. Martinville; Charmaine Hills (Chester) of St. Martinville and Mark Abraham of Beaumont, TX; two brothers, Harris Jones of St. Martinville and Brian Dean Jones of Lafayette; three sisters, Roylin Landry (Reasley) of St. Martinville; Robbie Jones (Cedarius) of Houston and Monique Jones and Rodney of Youngsville and his grandchildren, Braylon Jones, Dennis Benoit, Jr., Naisiah Ledet, Rylun Jones, Laylah Abraham, Kellis Abraham, Kiasley Hills, Javontre Hills, Denzelle Abraham, Juwan Abraham, Jayden Blanchard and Hallie Mitchell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland Jones, Sr. and Barbara Mason Jones and one brother, Kevin Jones.
