Mr. Howard Jospeh Broussard Sr.

COTEAU HOLMES – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Howard Joseph Broussard, Sr., age 84, at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Fr. Joe officiating. Interment will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Monday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Tuesday until service time.

A native of Loreauville and resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Broussard passed away at 6:05 pm on Friday, September 6, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Broussard was employed as a lowboy truck driver for JB Talley for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening and he loved French music and dancing. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Howard J. Broussard, Jr. and his wife Glenna of Lexington, OK; Terry Broussard and his wife Claire of St. Martinville and Ann Thomassee and husband Malcolm, Sr. of St. Martinville; seven grandchildren, Sonya Colliver, Holly LeBlanc, Letitia Gonsoulin, Dana Theriot, Terri Lynn Dore, Malcolm Thomassee, Jr. and Chad Thomassee; sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a very close friend, Theresa D. Thibodeaux.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mae Granger Broussard; parents, Edward and Antillia Hebert Broussard; two sisters, Marie Broussard Sonnier and Loretta Broussard Thompson and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Colliver, Joey LeBlanc, Danny Theriot, Tommy Dore, Malcom Thomassee, Jr. and Chad Thomassee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Blanchard, Jr., Josh Theriot and Blake LeBlanc.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Acadiana-200 Johnston Street-Lafayette, LA 70503.
