She was born in Cavaillion, Haiti on May 19, 1941, the daughter of the late Pétion and Porcianna Roy.
She was preceded by two brothers, Eduard and Julio, and two sisters, Martine and Marie-Josee.
Yolaine is survived by three sisters and a brother: Zita (Roy) Apollon, Mery (Roy) Douyon, and Ginnette (Roy) Doura and Pétion Roy. She is also survived by her children Willy (Chaverly) Morgan of St. Louis, MO., Daphne Morgan of St. Louis, MO., and Rachelle Morgan of St. Louis, MO. She had four grandchildren: Morgan and Maxwell Robinson, Ella Morgan, and Zelina Thomas. She also leaves many other brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends behind.
Yolaine spent thirty years teaching French in the St. Louis Public School District. She also spent thirty years in healthcare, serving as both a phlebotomist and lab technician at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. Yolaine enjoyed collecting dolls, timers, and penguins. She loved to cook, spend time with her friends and entertain.
