Willie J. Meadows

Willie was the beloved son of the late Rushel and Levoulia Meadows; treasured life partner of the late Donald Bergmann; loving brother of Cleo Meadows, Annie Fowler, Dorothy (James) Gray, Edward (Bernice) Meadows, Vanessa Meadows, Alfred (Dwaynia) Meadows, Margaret Meadows, Patricia (John) Smith, Cynthia (Harry) Meadows-Fowler, and the late Johnnie Meadows, David (Shirley) Meadows, and Mary Meadows; cherished uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin, and a friend to many in his lifetime.

Willie was born in Macon, Mississippi on November 3, 1944. He served our country in the United States Army as a Medic. He earned his B.S. from Saint Louis University and had a long and successful career in the banking industry.

Willie loved to travel and took many trips overseas. He enjoyed attending concerts at Powell Symphony Hall. He was on the board at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. He was a manager for Prepaid Legal Services. He was instrumental in helping with many charities and was a faithful and active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church. He loved a good joke! He and his neighbors would get together for fun, and he loved to cook for them. He played the flute since he was ten years old and was in the band a Vashon High School.

Willie had a heart of gold and would help anyone at any time as much as he was able.

One of his most beautiful gestures was every last Friday of the month, Willie would call his siblings and aunts, nieces and nephews, just to tell them he loved them. What he didn't finish on Friday, he finished on Saturday! Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was very loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 1 from 10-11am at Trinity Episcopal Church, 600 N. Euclid Avenue 63108. A Funeral Service will follow at 11am. Interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery where Full Military Honors will be bestowed.
