William O. "Bill" Hill, Jr.

Bill was the loving husband of the late Joan C. (nee Litsch) Hill; devoted father of Teresa Hill, Owen (Lisa Miller) Hill, Joanne Hill, Daniel (Tracey) Hill, and Sara (Joe) Green; cherished grandfather of Tessa Suedmeyer, Jenna (Andrew) Kraus, Abby Hill, Cammie Hill, Leighton Hill, Aiden Green, Saylor Hill, Kiefer Hill, Lochlan Green, and Jazmin Stahlman and Bailey Emann; dear brother-in-law of David (Kathy) Litsch and Doreen Litsch; dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many in his lifetime.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Owen Sr. and Florence (nee Hennessy) Hill.

Bill was a very proud member of the brotherhood of St. Louis City Fire Fighters. He reached the rank of Captain before retiring in 2001. He was a member of the St. Louis Association of Retired Professional Fire Fighters, The International Association of Fire Fighters AFL-CIO-CLC, The BackStoppers, American Legion Post 15, Hill 2000-Neighborhood Entertainment, and the USO. He served as Committeeman for Ward 10 for two terms.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6 from 4-8pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street 63109. A second visitation will be on Wednesday, September 7 from 9am-12:30pm at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1pm at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 5130 Wilson Avenue 63110. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory to the BackStoppers would be greatly appreciated by his family.
