I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Tom. OMG, the memories I have from our trip to Pennsylvania and when they came out for moms 70th bday. R.I.P. and show Bridget the ropes!! Love and miss you.

I knew Tom For many years due to representing Local 2, IBEW throughout the years that he served as the Local's Business Manager.  Tom succeeded a Local 2 legend, Bob Missey, as the Local's Business Manager, but never flinched in the job whcih he always carried out conscientiously and with good humor.  I had the honor of nominating Tom as a fellow in Leadership St. Louis where he did a great job as a labor ambassador to many who had no idea about what unions do and how they do it.  I was also luckuy enough to have had several meetings with Tom and his lovely wife, Mentees.  It was a pleasure watching them together in both the gentle and loving way that they related to each other.  Tom will be missed, but all who knew him will be comforted by the good feeling they have whenever they think about Tom.

What a fun and wonderful man.  I just read of the your Dad's passing and want to say from the Montie Haddox family how sorry we are.

I knew Tom professionally during his service as a Business Representative and then Business Manager of Local 2, IBEW which I had the good fortune to represent in legal matters as an attorney at Schuchat Cook & Werner.  Tom followed in the footsteps of a Local 2 legend when he succeeded Bob Missey as the Local's Business Manager.  But Tom never shrunk from his responsibilities as Business Manger always preforming the job with class and good humor.  The photograph for the obituary does a remarkable job of capturing Tom's cheery faith and optimism.  I had the good fortune to recommend Tom as a fellow in the St. Louis Leadership Program, and for a full year Tom did a great job of educating people outside the labor movement to what unions really do and how they do it.  Finally I was lucky enough to meet Mentees Donovan, Tom's wife, at the same time with Tom, and they were a wonderful couple to observe together - gentle, funny and loving with each other.  So be well good friend; you will be missed by many.

I am very honored to have worked for Tom as a Business Representative during his last five years as Business Manager of IBEW Local #2.  He was very sincere and dedicated to the membership of Local #2.  He spoke often of the joy he shared with his family.  I know he will be missed greatly by family and friends.

Favorite memories of my childhood included the Cousin Reunions at Bellefontaine Park. The Starke and Donovan families shared one summer Sunday a year to get together and it was never enough. You could count on Tom Donovan's family and the Harold Starke family to close the park down! I bet the two of them are up there talking about hitting bottlecaps!!!

A wealthy man indeed. Mr. and Mrs. Donovan together built an American tradition. A loving, caring family. Look around during the visitation and see all the people they touched during their short time with us. I was always welcome at the Donovan house. There were always smiles and laughter. I'm truly thankful that I am still a part of their lives. My God, for almost 5 decades! He will be missed by many. A sign of a very wealthy man. My Love and condolences to the Donovan family. Rusty.
