Dr. Stuart Weiss

Beloved husband of Marlita Wennerman Weiss for 60 years; dear father and father-in-law of Dr. Lori (Bradford Wainer) Weiss, Michael (Diane) Weiss and Debra Weiss; dear grandfather of Jessica, Zachary (fiancée Abigail Backer) and Carolyn Wainer, Allison (William) Waits and Samuel Weiss; beloved son of the late Jessie and the late Albert Weiss; dear brother and brother-in-law of Gerald (Virginia) Weiss; our dear uncle, cousin and friend. He was a beloved doctor and teacher to many; he loved all of the family pets, especially his black lab, Katie.

Dr. Weiss was a Professor of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine and received several honors from Barnes Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine. In 1994, he received the Alumni Faculty Award from Washington University School of Medicine as a consummate clinical and outstanding professor. In 2002, he received The Medical Staff Association Appreciation award in honor of his commitment, dedication, and exemplary service to the Department of Neurology at Barnes, and in 2002, all of his family was pleased to see Dad receive the Dr. Neville Grant Award for Clinical Excellence.

Funeral service Thursday, October 29th, 10:30 AM at Congregation Temple Israel, 1 Alvan D. Rubin Drive, 63141. Visitation begins at 9:45 AM. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions preferred to the Department of Neurology, Washington University in St. Louis, Office of Medical Alumni and Development, Campus Box 1247, Attn: Zach Silvers, 7425 Forsyth Blvd., Suite 2100, St. Louis, MO 63105; the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry, 10950 Schuetz Road, St. Louis, 63146; or Congregation Temple Israel.
