Ruth R Wilkinson Mitchell

Ruth Roberta Mitchell (nee Wilkinson), age 83, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2015 at Scenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Herculaneum, MO. Ruth was born to Archie Clyde and Stella Esther (Stephens) Wilkinson on July 6, 1932, in Zalma, Missouri, where she was raised in a large and loving family.

On December 11, 1952, in St. Louis Ruth married Thomas O. Mitchell and moved to California, where they lived and raised their three children for many years before moving back home to Missouri. Family and friends were Ruth’s passion and delight.

Ruth is survived by her children, Stephanie (Dan Kelsey) of Idaho, Tom (Cindi) of St. Louis, and Beth of St. Louis; siblings Mona Thiele, Marvil (Calvin) Hoehn, Anita Borchelt, and Clyde (Maxine) Wilkinson; grandchildren, Spencer, Brendan, Barrett, McKenna, and Tristan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom; siblings, Georgia, Sylvia, Lila, James, Ona, Marcia, Harold, and David.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd. Entombment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery & Mausoleum, 1215 Lemay Ferry Rd. Visitation will be held at Hoffmeister South County Chapel on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
