Ruth E. Gezella

She was born February 29, 1940 in St. Louis, the daughter of Charles and Viola (Heinrich) Vondra. She married Stanley J. Gezella on November 19, 1960 at St. Pius V Church in St. Louis.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is also survived by two sons: Mark (Cathy) Gezella, and Dennis (Kathy) Gezella, all of St. Louis. Her grandchildren, Bill (Teresa); Thomas, Anna and Jacob Gezella. Three great-grandchildren, William, Jr., Iggy, and Ollie Gezella.

She is also survived by sister’s-in-law and brother-in-law: Esther (Lee) Jones, Marlene Rall, and Nick (Carolyn) Gezella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother’s-in-law and sister-in-law: Syl Gezella, Larry Gezella and Betty Gezella, plus several aunts, uncles and a cousin.

Mrs. Gezella was a Graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School in St. Louis.

She was mainly a Homemaker, but held several part-time jobs over the years, an Avon Rep for 15 years and the last of which was at County Seat Deli and Delites in Carlyle.

Ruth served as an Election Judge in Clinton Co., helped with Faith Formation; a Member of St. Anne Sodality and was a Eucharistic Minister and Reader during the week at St. Mary’s Catholic Church until her recent illness.

SERVICE: Visitation, Monday, May 6th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street. Funeral Mass Tuesday, May 7th, 10:00 am at Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church, 6741 S. Rock Hill Rd.; Affton, MO 63123.
