You knew Bob was around when you heard his booming voice and joyful laugh.  As cousins, we grew up together and enjoyed wonderful days at our grandmother's.  He was so full of life and fun to be with.  Now I'm sure he's greeting everyone in heaven with a smile.

I always planted a mixture of flowers in the flower beds out front of the house for Bob.  He seemed to like the Gladiolas  best.  It was nice to know  he was always watching out for everyone in the neighborhood as well.

Bob was always outside greeting all of the neighbors. I would always stop and chat with him when walking our dog. He loved the dog and the dog loved him. He was always laughing and had a good word for everyone. If I didn’t see him out in a while I would knock on his door and he was always happy to have a visit! I will miss my talks with him. He always made me feel good and he was always happy! 


You couldn’t help but smile when you  where in Bob’s company. He went out of his way to make you feel special. He made it a point to do so and to make you laugh with his great sense of humor. He and Jan equaled the perfect pair. RIP Bob. Gone but never forgotten. 

 Bob and I were in science, seated at the rear of the classroom when he asked me to see my tear gas/blank pistol. I told him that he could see it but not to pull the trigger. Well, He pulled the trigger and it went off and scared everyone in the classroom. Everyone in the class turned at looked directly at us. They thought  I was the culprit. Good thing it had a blank shell and not a tear gas shell! Mr. Genteman stormed out of the room and returned with Sr. Loran who found out I had the pistol and Bob fired it. I can not recall the punishment but our parents were not involved. Everything was handled in house, but what a scary day it was. RIP Bob.

My deepest condolences on the passing of Bob.  It was so nice of you to contact him that day so we could catch up with each other on the phone.
Also thanks to Jim Seifried for sharing the photo of our OLS baseball team.  Now we need someone to identify the players.  I am the one in the center front row with my hand inside my baseball glove.

I was so blessed to have known Bob ! What I remember most was the fabulous Christmas Eve we spent together for many years ! Bobs bigger than life personality and laugh is what I will miss most ! He always made you feel so welcome shouting out your name when you walked into his home ! Bob was one of a kind ! I will always remember him wearing his famous Grinch sweater ! But I know Bob is smiling and laughing among all of us ! We love you Bob 

Before there was Google there was Uncle Bob.  I remember when the Internet was still in diapers and flip phones were fashionable.  I called Bob from Johnny Brock’s and asked him if he knew the song that was playing.  Of course he did: Hot Rod Lincoln.  
He never was a father but he loved my brother and I as one of his own.  He taught me an important lesson of fatherhood.  He always made himself available to play anything I wanted as a child.  From Dungeons and Dragons to Nintendo Bob was just as eager as I was to play.  This lesson hit home when I watched him do the same thing with my son.  I would see how excited Luca was to spend time with (Great) Uncle Bob.  Luca would clutch Pokémon cards in one hand and a Nerf gun in the other while waiting for Uncle Bob to arrive.  It was then that I  understood just how important it is to spend time playing with the little ones and all the fond memories made.  In this time this is all we have left.
I’m sure I will never meet someone like you again.  Rest easy Uncle Bob.  


I'm glad I had the opportunity to know Bob (we were related at one time).  I remember many family gatherings where he was the life of the party.  He was a special person who brought smiles and laughter everywhere he went.  He made people feel good.  He was that kind of person.

I'm sorry to learn he had such health issues.  Not long ago, he made a special effort to come to my mother's wake (with brother Tom) even though he had a hard time moving around.  This did not hinder his jovial mood as we reminisced.

Bob had a big heart and will always be remembered as a kind and generous person.

Bob was one of my first friends when I started at OLS in 3rd grade.  We played some baseball together in grade school and I witnessed his migrating from Javier as his favorite cardinal player to Lou Brock.  There was no doubt that Lou was his guy so much so that I felt compelled to call him Lou from then on.  When he heard someone call Lou he knew who was calling him.  Bob had a big heart no doubt and I will always value those memories of our younger years.  I was sorry to hear about his passing and offer my condolences to his family.

I will always remember My cousin Bob for the smile, jokes and laughter that he always shared when we would see each other. I loved having that time together no matter how short it may have been.  You will be missed. With deepest sympathy and Love to Jan, Tommy, Mary Beth and Wayne, Gary  and Tammy and Ellen.

My husband, Bob was the bravest man I've ever known. He had numerous  physical maladies for many years, which caused him great pain & eventually affected his mobility & quality of life. While this greatly changed our lives & made everyday living quite difficult, he remained kind &  humorous to neighbors, family, & all nurses & doctors with whom he had to deal these past few months. I couldn't have done this  nearly as valiantly as he. He truly was my best friend, my sweet love, and ultimately my HERO! I love you Bobby & no matter how difficult things became  I will always love you & miss you extremely deeply. Good bye, my sweet angel. Jan

It's hard to imagine a more joy filled, fun, loving person than Bob. I truly admired the love and devotion that was so evident between precious Jan and him. Even when his health dealt him blows he would say something to make you smile.  What a truly remarkable person and a truly remarkable marriage. So so much love to Jan and all of Bob's family.

I will remember my cousin, Bob, was fun, funny and full of life.  My favorite memory was when he came to visit our family one summer a long time ago.  We played games and cards while he was visiting.  I cried when he left because I was so sad he wouldn’t be around anymore.  I know Patrick, Aunt Margie and Uncle Jimmy are happy to be reunited with him.  Love to all . . .

My cousin Bob was one of the nicest people I ever knew. I think it was his mission in life to make people happy because I never saw him without a smile on his face or something g funny to say to make me laugh. He was one of the good guys.I was sorry to hear that these last few months were so difficult.  I'm sure he is in a beautiful place now and is pain and worry free.

Bob was always be wearing a smile when ever I encountered him in any situation.  Quick with a joke or a lovingly sarcastic greeting.  Though our meetings were few and far between in recent years I will sorely miss you Bob.

After knowing Uncle Bob for many years I mowed his lawn for a few summers.

He always met me with a huge grin & asked if I needed anything before I began. 

After mowing I was always welcomed inside to cool down with some water & good conversation about life at the kitchen table. Uncle Bob never shied away from meaningful conversation & was a source of inspiration for me.

I brought by my young son a number of times I mowed. He enjoyed hanging with Uncle Bob inside while I mowed. My son would leave with a huge grin on his face. 

Uncle Bob had the same affect on me & anyone else around him - he always left us smiling.

We loved Bob, he always made us laugh no matter what. Our kids grew up knowing him and loved him like we did. May he rest in peace.
