Born on March 25, 1947, in Clinton, Indiana, Ray was the cherished son of the late Raymond Wilson Sr. and Dolores Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lea Bedford and Bette Cox.
Ray devoted his professional life to inspiring young minds as a high school science teacher, where he shared his passion for physics and chemistry with countless students. His dedication to education and his ability to make complex subjects accessible and engaging left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of being in his classroom.
Outside of his work, Ray found joy in the great outdoors and traveling the seas. He loved camping trips that brought him closer to nature and cherished the memories created on cruises with family and friends.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Susan Wilson; his daughter, Whitney Vicha (Dean); his son, RJ Wilson (Jamie); and his treasured grandchildren, Riley Vicha, Brendan Vicha, and Montana Wilson. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a commitment to education that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Ray's warm spirit, gentle humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and students will be deeply missed. Those who knew him will always remember the joy he brought into their lives and the positive influence he had on all fortunate enough to cross his path.
A visitation will be held for Ray on April 4th, 2025 at Kriegshauser West Mortuary, 9450 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132, from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held at the same location at 11:00 AM. A committal service will immediately follow the service at Calvary Cemetery, 5239 W Florissant Ave, St. Louis, MO 63115.
