Olga Gakes, age 104, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Loving wife of the late Nick James Gakes; loving and devoted mother of Marian Gakes and Christine (Jim) McMillan; dear grandmother "Yiayia" of Alison (Tim) McCarthy, Rachel (Garen) Lafser, Nicolas Gakes, and Katerine (Joe) Geary; dear great-grandmother of Lennon and Levi McCarthy, Gwyn and Gabriel Lafser, and Gracie Geary; dear daughter of the late Nick and Elizabeth Thavorides, and sister of the late James (Niki), Anthony (Faye), and George (Anne survives) Thavorides; loving aunt, and friend to many.
SERVICES: Visitation 10:00 until time of service at 11:30 am Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at KRIEGSHAUSER MORTUARY WEST CHAPEL 9450 Olive Blvd., Olivette. Interment to follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, or to Samaritan's Purse.
