Lucas George Franklin“Luke”, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the age of 36. Beloved son of Cathy (Carl) Molkenbur (nee Albietz) and Joseph Franklin (Melissa Sizemore); loving brother of Joseph Jr. (Daisy) Franklin, Natalie Franklin, Hannah Molkenbur (fiancé Danton Creek), Haley Molkenbur, Lucy Molkenbur and Marissa Franklin; dear grandson of the late Robert & Gertrude Franklin (nee Bufalo) and the late George & Shirley Albietz; special uncle of Austin Franklin, Cecelia Franklin, Tessa Franklin, Gia Franklin and Thomas Piotrowski IV; dearest godson of Greta and Gary Franklin; Luke was a musician who wrote his own music, was an avid guitar player, he loved soccer and baseball and will be missed dearly by his family and all who knew him. He was proud of his job at Vitale’s Bakery and loved his time there.
“There are no words to explain the sadness we all feel over the loss of Luke. Our hearts hurt for him and all of you. We have been blessed to have a cousin with such a huge, gentle, kind heart... Always thinking and asking about others. Never, ever heard a complaint or negative word from him. A true gentleman. Love and memories can never be stolen. May they give you strength and help guide you through this painful sorrow. We love Luke and all of you. He will always live on in our hearts.” These words were written by Luke’s oldest cousin, Shelley, which express the feelings of all his cousins, family and friends.
SERVICES: Funeral Mass Monday, November 11th, 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 5130 Wilson Ave. at Marconi. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Sunday, November 10th 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa St. If desired, donations in Luke’s name may be made to Places for People, 4130 Lindell Blvd.; St. Louis, MO 63108.
