Loretta P. Schumacher

Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Loretta P. Schumacher, age 103, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Amelia (nee Balota) Orphan, along with her beloved husband Robert “Bob” Schumacher, a son, Michael Schumacher, and a brother, Lawrence “Larry" Birkenmeyer.

Loretta leaves behind her son, Stephen (Sandy) Schumacher, a daughter in law, Kim Schumacher. She was a dear and cherished grandmother to Sara Schumacher, Jamie (Nick) Mayes, Abbey (Michael Meyer) Schumacher, Brian and Matthew Schumacher and a great grandmother to Blakely and Roczen Mayes and Samuel Meyer. Dear “Auntie Rett”, cousin and friend to many.

To Loretta, family was everything. She lived her life well and kept herself very active. In her younger years, she was an avid golfer with many awards and a ‘hole in one’. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary at the Elks Club # 2766 in Oakville, Missouri. You may have seen her there dancing the jitterbug, where her and Bob were the last ones leaving the dance floor. Loretta was no stranger to a good card game, she would recruit anyone she could. She especially enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Services: A Visitation for Loretta will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. A Funeral Mass will occur Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Queen of all Saints, 6603 Christopher Drive, St. Louis, Missouri 63129 followed by an Entombment at Mount Hope Mausoleum, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63125.
