Larry James Schmidt Sr., age 89, of Hillsboro, Missouri passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Born April 6, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late George and Adele Schmidt (nee Rusert); beloved wife of the late Jacqueline "Jackie" Schmidt; loving father of Larry Schmidt Jr, Linda(Rick) Krassinger and Lisa (Dave) Weiss; dearest grandfather of Brett, Amanda (Chris), Lauren (Jared), Jennifer (George) and Stephanie (Matt); cherished great grandfather of Brendon, Peyton, Olivia, JJ, Judah, Eleanor, River, Leo and Sammy.
Larry enjoyed the outdoors, taking time for fishing and hunting but above all else, his greatest love was spending time with his family.
A visitation for Larry will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125.
A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church Hillsboro, 9700 Zion Lutheran Church Rd, Hillsboro, MO 63050.
Larry will be laid to rest in Mt Hope Cemetery, 1215 Lemay Ferry Rd, Saint Louis, Missouri 63125-1767; Garden of Faith; Lot: 87D, Grave: 2.
