She was born April 16, 1940 in Augusta, Arkansas to Edmond and Victoria Ward.
Juanita was the fifth of ten children and acted as her mother’s helper for her younger siblings. Juanita moved to St. Louis, MO in the early 1960’s where she would reside until her death.
Juanita, known by most as “Nene,” spent sixty years as a member of the Tom George family. She was best known for her constant smile, wonderful cooking and caring heart. Juanita acted as a second mother to many people throughout her life, often providing a listening ear and some sort of great food. The George family can not express the love they have for Juanita and how fortunate they are to have had Juanita be a part of their family.
Juanita is survived by her sister, Helen Duffy of Searcy, Arkansas and brother, Robert Ward of Los Angeles, California. As well as many nieces, nephews and countless other family members. Juanita will be dearly missed by the five surviving children of Thomas and Jeannette George, as well as fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A private burial service will be held at Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 17 from 1-4PM at Racquet Club Ladue 1600 Log Cabin Lane St. Louis, MO 63124.
