Jane C. Sexton, peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis, after a two week battle with kidney failure and cardiomyopathy. She had turned 83 on August 23. She is survived by her cousins Katherine Kastoryano, Joanne Davidson, Mildred Boyd, Daniel Sexton, and Edmund De Chasca.
Jane was a vital member of St. Anselm’s Parish where she served as eucharistic minister, sang in the choir, took part in bible study groups, and performed many volunteer tasks. She was “loved to pieces” by Father Francis and the other monks and enjoyed many friendships with other parishioners. She also volunteered at Mercy Hospital for many years.
Jane loved her basset dogs, reading and watching television in her beautiful condominium in Chesterfield, shopping at Straub’s, and making frequent visits to her hair dresser and manicurist, who became her friends. Described as “spunky” by friends, Jane was not shy about letting her views be known, but her girlish smile and childlike demeanor made it all fun. Jane was one of those people who never lose their innocence. She will be missed.
