James “Jim” Ross McKenna passed away peacefully on December 18, 2020 at the age of 88. Jim was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 23, 1932 to Ross and Minnie (nee Rehder) McKenna who preceded him in death.
He is lovingly remembered by Linda (nee Kruse) McKenna to whom he was happily married to for 33 years. And by his children Sharon (Larry) Nesbitt, Patrick (Laurie) McKenna, Karen (Randy) Moore, Marilyn (Randee) Lane, Jacqueline “Jackie”(Don White) Simpson and Monica (Dan) Nickolai.
He was proud to be “Grandpa Jim” to 12 grandchildren: Brian and Michael Nesbit, Jason (Angelina)Travis, Matt McKenna, Dawn (Glen) Danuser, Josh, Jared Brooks, Kacie (Nick) Carter, Coree (Misti) Lane, Jessica (Lanny) Dunn, and Lydia Nickolai.
Jim was also proud to have 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, 1 grand dog Abram who enjoyed each other’s company. He is a loved brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Jim was also preceded in death by his first wife Ann (Flagg) McKenna and his brother William “Bill” McKenna. He is survived by his brother Larry (Sue) McKenna and his sister in law Helen McKenna.
Jim had many fond memories growing up in St. Louis on Roosevelt Place. He worked for Coca Cola for 33 years and was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 688. After retirement from Coke, he continued employment for another 25 plus years, always feeling the value of working.
He is greatly missed… But don’t cry because it is over…. Smile because it happened
