Jim Paul Macke, of St. Louis, MO, died unexpectedly on February 5, 2013. He was the son of the late Aloysius M. and Lenora A. Macke, and the brother of the late Nancy (Macke) Grunzinger, Shirley (Macke) Moore. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Macke, and his siblings Virginia (Ray) Meyer, Helen (Jim) Metz, Bernice (Ron) Sinak, Tommy (Barb) Macke, Carl Macke, Donnie (Linda) Macke, Gary (Shari) Macke, Ronnie (Maureen) Macke, Tricia (Kevin) Niewoehner and Janis (Mark) Schneider. Jim Macke is also survived by his three children, Beth Macke (Mark Sellars), Jim A. Macke, Marianne Macke-Swier; two grandchildren, Will White and Maddie Swier, and two dogs, Buddy and Skippy
.
He grew up in South St. Louis, attended St. John the Baptist High School, served his country first in the Army and then in the National Guard. He retired as a salesman from Westinghouse Electric Supply Company after many years and was working as a contractor for SC Electric Inc. at the time of his death. He devoutly worshiped at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. His hobbies included fishing and investing. He also played volleyvall for decades and competed in the Senior Olympics.
Services: Arrangements: Memorial Visitation at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road., St. Louis, MO, Friday, February 8 from 3-8 p.m. Memorial Mass of Resurrection at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Saturday, February 9th, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date. Masses preferred. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, 31970 State Hwy P, Clyde, MO 64432-8100 or Salvation Army Gateway, 824 Union, St. Louis, MO 63123.
