James Aaron Haislip, 82 of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on November 6, 2023. He was born on July 6, 1941 in Fisk, Missouri. James was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
James will be remembered for his unwavering love for his wife, Carole (nee Meier), and his children, Lisa (Tim) Minzer, Jim (Talia), Tim, Mary (David), Joe (Mary), Jeff (Diana), and Barbara. He cherished his twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, as well as his large, extended family and countless friends.
A man of many passions, James had an insatiable curiosity and was a voracious reader (including encyclopedias), a hell of a guitar picker, and enjoyed sharing his love for music. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his endless corny jokes. Additionally, he had a sweet tooth and could never resist enjoying ice cream, regardless of the time of day.
James dedicated his life to helping others and instilled this value in his loved ones. His loss is deeply felt, but the incredible memories and special moments he shared with his family and friends bring comfort during this difficult time. The outpouring of kindness, prayers, and beautiful words is greatly appreciated by the family.
James is survived by his sister, Jean Ford. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James E. and Ruby (Morgan) Haislip, as well as his brothers, Paul Haislip and Robert Haislip. He was also preceded in death by his beloved in-laws, Gordon and Kay Meier.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Immaculate Conception of Maplewood, 2934 Marshall Avenue 63143, on Friday, November 17, 2023. A gathering will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry. Non-perishable food items can be made on the day of the service.
Jim will forever be remembered for his love, kindness and dedication to others. May he rest in peace, knowing he made a lasting impact on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
