Florine “Faye” (Gordon) Zimmerman, passed away March 15, 2022 Beloved wife of the late Jack Zimmerman, the love of her life and best friend for 49 years She is survived by her daughter Susan Hyman (Randy) and son Michael Zimmerman (Laurie). She is the very proud and loving grandmother of Soley Hyman, and Samuel and Ely Zimmerman; dear aunt of Marc Kutten (John Kelly); dear sister of the late Elaine Kutten (late Gene) and the late Larry Gordon; daughter of the late Sidney and late Sarah Gordon; and dear cousin and friend to many.
Faye loved collecting memorabilia of all kinds, tap dancing, playing cards, and cooking for the holidays. Most of all she loved Jack, her dearly beloved husband, and her children and grandchildren. Her best times were sharing her life with Jack. “We were two peas in a pod,” she liked to say. She loved to dance with Jack. “When we danced he wanted my head next to his. We loved when we danced and held each other close. We would always hold hands.”
One of her favorite stories was meeting Jack at the counter at Famous Barr. They fell in love right away. He loved to tell the story of meeting that “cute little girl who walked into Famous Barr for a credit when was he was the service manager.” Jack, who was a musician known as Jack Merman, told Faye on one of their first dates, “I’m not going to play at your wedding, I’m going to be there.” She saved every card Jack sent her for almost 50 years. He always wrote the same message, “love you always and forever.” He told her she always made him laugh.
