Earl Jerrell Dotson, 91, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on November 26, 2017. Born January 8, 1926 in Knoxville, TN, he was the oldest of eight children. In addition to his parents, Earl is preceded in death by his loving wife Anna M. (nee Mohr) Dotson. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Cheryl (John) Bauer; Keith J. (Pearl) Dotson; Deborah L. Dotson; Deidre (Earl) Klein; grandchildren, Gene (companion Judy) Mesplay; Michael (companion Lisa) Mesplay; Brian (companion Lauren) Mesplay; Holly A. (Chris) Kennedy; Jennifer (Ron) Kyser; Jessica Dotson, Michelle (Brian) Schnarre; Keith Klein; great-grandchildren, Nicole Mesplay; Michael Mesplay; Blayne (Alexandra) Mesplay; Anthony Williams; Brayden Williams; Gabriella Kennedy; Brett Beaudoin ; Isabella Kyser; Lilly Anna Kyser; Tyler Kyser; Colton Schnarre; Hudson Schnarre; Sadie Schnarre; Serus Klein; Connor Wilson; brother, J.R. (Diane) Dotson; many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Knoxville, TN. Special nephew, Larry Dotson (caregiver), Knoxville, TN.
Earl was a kind man who did all he could to help others. He was a proud US Army veteran and served during World War II. After his time in the service, Earl retired after 43 years of service at Emerson Electric as an electrical engineer with the title of missile production manager. Later in life he was a proud employee of Grant’s Farm. He was a lifetime Member of the VFW Post 2593 and was a 32nd degree Freemason.
Friends may gather at Hoffmeister South County Chapel Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 4-8:00 P.M. A service to celebrate Earl’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 30, 2017 with Pastor Wayne Huebner officiating. Burial immediately following at Mount Hope Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Earl’s honor may be donated to the Visiting Physicians Association or a charity of your choice.
