David Thompson Werner

Dave Werner born David Thompson to Jack & Dee Werner on October 1, 1954 – died October 21, 2022. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, nine siblings, eight nieces and nephews, and uncle dad.

Dave was one of a kind. He could cook you a delicious meal, make you laugh with an absurd story, or build you a skeleton out of PVC pipe. He enjoyed a chilly fall day, a good steak, and spending time with his family and his dogs.

Dave was also a talented musician who wrote and performed songs with several local bands throughout the years. For a time he hosted a music showcase called “Listen Up!” at The Focal Point that featured talented singer/songwriters in the St. Louis area. One of his proudest accomplishments was the 2017 release of a studio album entitled Play No Evil with two of his longtime friends and bandmates, “The Chimps.”

Dave was above all a loving, devoted father who instilled humor, creativity, and fun in the life of his daughter and her friends. He will be dearly missed and always remembered, as he wrote in “Another Chance:"

Funny standing here without you next to me

Somewhere down the road, I know we’ll find that harmony

Gather up the ones you love, and give them all a kiss

I only wish we all could have another chance at this.
