Jerry leaves behind his devoted wife, Diane Jacobs Kopp, daughter Sasha Kopp, son Gary Kopp and his wife Susie Levitt Kopp, daughter Susan Kopp Townsley and her husband Bill Townsley, and his grandchildren - Adam and Annie Kopp and Charlie and Arlo Townsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Jules and Fran Kopp, his sister Judy Kopp and his first wife, Anita Soffer Kopp.
He loved spending time with his family and friends including his Clayton High School classmates, as well as cheering on the Cardinals and his Alma Mater, Purdue. Jerry enjoyed traveling and golf. He actively participated in the community – Conference of Education, American Cancer Society, Ladue School Board (1980-1985) and as a Docent at the St. Louis Zoo.
After receiving his MBA at Washington University, he worked for thirty years as a Senior Systems Engineer at IBM. More recently, he was an insurance agent at J. Berg and Associates.
A private family service will be held. In his memory, if you wish, preferred donations may be made to the St. Louis Zoo Association or to the American Cancer Society. See below for information on joining a virtual shiva being held on Sunday, February 20 from 5-7 pm.
