John is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Doris (nee Farris) Chernaskey. He will be missed by his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
John served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He had a take charge personality in all he did. John loved his job at Chrysler and graciously retired after twenty-two years. His greatest joy was his beloved wife, Doris and their cherished marriage. John loved to dance, sing, and just act silly with everyone he knew. He adored and loved his pets and shamelessly spoiled them. Most of all, John loved the Lord with all his heart. His family has found comfort knowing that he is resting in the arms of Jesus.
A visitation for John will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. Followed by a funeral service atl 2:00 PM. John will be laid to rest at New Saint Marcus Cemetery, 7901 Gravois Road, Affton, MO 63123.
