Cebert William "Bill" Shrum, age 93, of Fenton, Missouri passed away on Thursday February 27, 2020. Bill was born January 30, 1927 in Millersville, Missouri to Stella Frances Shrum (nee Tinnin) and Simon Jesse Shrum.
Bill is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bessie Marie Shrum (nee Snider); his niece and nephews Phyllis (Kenny) LaMar, Pam (the late Roger) East, Jim (Kim) Shrum, Lisa (Todd) Hake, Paula (the late Kevin) Wildt, Frank (Pam Broadway) Snider, Vickie (Keith) Dryer and Thomas Engler.
Bill was preceded in death by; father Simon Jesse Shrum and mother Stella Frances Shrum (nee Tinnin); brother Cecil Columbus Shrum and sister Frieda Florence Engler.
Bill was a very patriotic man. After high school he served in the Army for a short period of time. Four years after being released from the Army, Bill joined the Air Force. When he left the Air Force Bill came back to Missouri working for various tractor and equipment companies. In 1969 he began working for the Fabick Tractor Company in Fenton. He stayed with Fabick Tractor until his retirement in 1992. While working for Fabick, Bill worked on Alaska Pipe Line and on jobs in South America.
Besides being a hard worker, a loving husband and dear uncle, Bill was a man of faith. He joined Concord Trinity United Methodist Church on March 7, 1993 and was a faithful member to the end.
The visitation for Bill is on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, Saint. Louis, Missouri 63125. The funeral service follows the visitation at12:30 PM, After the funeral the committal service with full military honors is at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
