I worked with Cary many years ago at Monsanto. It was a shock when I heard of his passing. He was a good friend.

My condolences to all of Cary's loved one's. My initial encounter with Cary was our very first football practice as Freshmen in high school at Affton when Cary and I were paired up and told to pick each other up using our necks and backs only.  I went first as Cary stood in front of me, legs spread, I placed my helmet between his legs and on command lifted his 200+ body (using only neck and back) to an upright position where I stood with him on my shoulders until the coach allowed me to put him back down.  Cary in-turn then did the same with me.  A very strange sensation, someone my size (equal to his) being lifted at all much less with someone only using his neck and back.  It will humble you and you gain an immediate respect and bond with someone who can do that.  Cary and I weren't what you would call close personal friends but we remained loyal companions throughout our high school years.  A greatly loved, admired and respected man whom I wish I had spent more time with.  My hope is that he rests in peace and his family be comforted knowing that he watches over them until we are all reunited.  God's blessings and comfort to all.

I just heard of Cary's passing.  My family hopes God will comfort you at this time of sorrow.  Cary and I were not really friends.  We were high school class mates who went separate ways after high school.  I remember high school days and the way Cary always had a smile and a friendly word whenever we encountered each other.

The Vahey family has so many wonderful memories with the Wamser family. Cary was funny, loving, caring, loved basketball (especially watching his girls play at Webster University). Most of all, he loved his family. We are so sorry for your loss.
