Carl L. Guempel

Son of the late Carl F and Norma A (nee Youngbluth) Guempel; husband of the late Rose Mary Theresa (nee Immer); dear father to late Carl J (Laura D Wisa), Louis J, James A, Theresa M Yorker (late Donald L), Veronica C Buchanan (Dean); dear grandfather to Valerie, Morgan, & Jessica Guempel and Scott & Dana Buchanan; brother of late Donald F (late Mary Kist) Guempel; and beloved friend to many.

Carl was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School (1945), McBride High School (1949), St Louis University (1953, 58, 68, 71) with BS & MS in Industrial Engineering and Finance; served in the US Army in Korea (1954-55); was a member of the St. Louis Management Club at McDonnell Douglas (1980's) where he retired from after over 30 years; volunteered with the Boy Scouts earning the Silver Beaver Award; and was a long time parishioner of Epiphany of Our Lord.

Carl was always full of energy staying active with family and friends. He especially enjoyed walking, swimming, roller skating, traveling, and eating. He was a supporter of the Arts attending concerts and shows for his grandkids, the St. Louis Philharmonic, the Fox Theater, the Muny, and Missouri Botanical Garden.

Services: Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Nov 6, 2023 at 10am from Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 6596 Smiley at Ivanhoe. Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, Affton, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciated donations to Epiphany of Our Lord or St Luke's Lutheran Church (3415 Taft Ave.)
