Here we are ending 2015 to enter another new year without our Prez Bruce. His compassionate words "Upward and Onward" is instilled in the work we do at HDIS always and forever! Each memory we share with our customers and co-workers throughout the years, when one smile ends-another appears. CHEERS and LOVE to HDIS!!!

I have known Bruce for many years. He was a true visionary in building a business to meet the needs of his customers. I know he cherished his family too!  He will be missed by many.

My Cousin who started something with an idea and then inspired so many. I'm so sorry I was unaware of the service and wish only the best to the entire family during this very difficult time.

I was a classmate of Bruce's at Carleton.  So very sorry to hear this news.  He was a great guy.  My sympathy to all of his family.

I grew up with Bruce.  I think from about second grade until I went away to college we'd get together with the gang to play something,  football,  basketball or baseball.  Mixed in later years were some all-night poker games and ski trips.  Bruce was an intellectual juggernaut who I'd have philosophical debates with and would  always lose.  I remember having one such debate with him on the way back from our ski trip where he was able to prove I didn't exist.  Now Bruce will only exist in our memories and our hearts which doesn't seem fair, he was too young, too brilliant too much fun to be gone.

Bruce, a great person, man and boss of mine in the early days of HDIS. My condolences to Dawn and family. You will be missed by many!

We are saddened at Bruce's passing. He was a great friend to many and NAFC is no exception. Over the years, his support and encouragement has helped to sustain us on our mission. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and the entire HDSI organization. He will be missed.

Bruce was a great boss. I was so surprised to learn of his passing. Dawn, you and your family are in my prayers. We all have very good memories of interactions with him over the years.

Although our Carleton years were long ago, I remember Bruce very fondly for his unassuming ways and delightful sense of humor.  I am so glad to know what a wonderful family he created with you, Dawn.  You and your children are in my thoughts.  I am so very sorry for your loss.

I just heard the news about Bruce's passing, too late to attend the service for him.  I hadn't seen Bruce in a few years, but we shared many early memories together.  We grew up four blocks apart, chased each other on the playground in elementary school, had many classes together in jr. high and high schools, and then took an unforgettable school trip together to Europe in the summer of 1977.  Bruce, Paul, and Norma and Herb were like a second family to me, and I cannot imagine a world without his humor and wry wit.  When I moved to Olivette a year ago, we got in touch and laughed that we were again living about 4 blocks apart after all these years.  I'm sorry we won't have the chance to renew that friendship.  My thoughts and prayers are with all the Grench family, those I know and those I've only heard about.  He was a wonderful friend and I will always think of him with great fondness.

Bruce will be truly missed. It was and honor and sill a pleasure to work for you and HDIS. He was excellent to his employees and customers. My thoughts and prayers are with the Grench family as well as my HDIS family. In the words of Bruce, Onward and Upward.

We are just stunned and saddened by the news of Bruce's passing. A good man with a wonderful sense of humor, we were very fortunate to know him. Our deepest sympathy to Dawn and his family, such a terrible loss.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of my former boss and friend. My heart aches for Dawn, the kids, the HDIS family and all that loved him. Although my stay as an employee at HDIS was but a flash compared to most, I have such fond memories of everyone! Bruce impacted me and taught me so many life lessons. Knowing  him forever changed my life! The compassion he shared with all of us was the very foundation of what he built such an extraordinary company.  I know HDIS is feeling the tremendous loss of  an amazing boss and friend but he has taught us well.  I am praying for you all as you honor him by keeping the dreams he had for the best company on the planet alive!

I knew Bruce when we were paper boys in the early 70's working for the Palo Alto Times. 
As the years went on , following my spinal cord accident and climb of El Capitan, Bruce came up to me at Med Trade in Atlanta and talked about his new company HDIS, and how he believed in helping people with incontinency. Then twenty-four years later, HDIS and No Limits (my business) partnered together and brought in my artificial climbing wall to  promote his company and allow people with disabilities to conquer their own summits. 
We will miss Bruce greatly. He was a childhood friend.

We lost a good friend when we lost Bruce.  We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with Bruce and Dawn.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Dawn and family.

I am saddened to hear the news of Bruce's passing. Although we only met together and discussed our businesses on several occasions, I had tremendous respect for him and the way he ran HDIS.  My prayers go out for his wife and children.

Bruce had a passion for YPO that he passed on to others. His love and pride for his children was evident every time he talked about them.  He will be missed.

I was very saddened to hear of Bruce's passing. My deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues & co-workers.

Bruce and I were college baseball teammates, and those experiences kept us laughing for 30+ years.  While we only saw each other a handful of times since graduating, it was always easy to pick up where we'd left off: every conversation between us, whether it was face-to-face, on the phone, or via e-mail or text, always left both of us in stitches. 
 
Bruce was a truly unique and talented individual. He will be missed.

Bruce created a great company with a wonderful vision to help people. I am thankful for the chance to share this experience for the 16 years I have been with the company.

Bruce will be missed. In his honor we will continue to strive to do our best to be kind to all and to each other.

Bruce and Dawn not only created an amazing company, they created a family.  A family that came together to support each other when we heard the news; a hug, words of encouragement, a shoulder to cry on.  For 15 years I have been part of this amazing family.  There will always be a missing part of HDIS now, but we will keep Bruce's memory and his vision going.  Dawn, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

What can we say about a truly wonderful man to have worked for. He made us all look forward to coming to work. Now it is up to us as employees to carry on his vision. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dawn and the Kids. We are here for you.

I am very saddened to learn of Bruce's passing.  My condolences to Bruce's wife Dawn and their four children.
 
Bruce and his company, HDIS, were a customer of mine when I worked at Kimberly-Clark (K-C) on Depend and Poise in late 1990's.  I was always very impressed with the HDIS and Bruce, the manner in which he treated his team and how well he delegated.  

Over the course of a number of meetings and one on one dinners, we got to know each other.  On one trip to the HDIS offices with K-C's Executive Vice President, we got stuck in the elevator for about 30 minutes when leaving.  While we had some good laughs about it after, Bruce wasn't laughing at the time because he wanted to make a good impression.

I've always admired Bruce as a person and business leader.

Bruce always spoke TO me, not AT me at business functions.  I have fond memories of him.  I pray for peace for the entire Grench family.  Those  by birth and those by choice.  It sounds like many people were proud to be part of his extended family through HDIS

Thank you Bruce for creating such an awesome place that values customers and employees just like family. We will continue your mission of that one stop shop for all customers and do it in our outstanding HDIS way! You will be missed and we will help Dawn and the kids get through this just like families do!

I have worked for Bruce for over 6 years. He was a great boss and great man. My condolences to the family.

My heart goes out to the Grench family. I am praying for Dawn and the children. Bruce was a friend and just a wonderful person. He was always smiling and was just a very thoughtful, positive and selfless person. He loved his family dearly and always spoke very highly of his beautiful wife, Dawn and their children. Bruce, you, your positive aura, and bright smile will be dearly missed!

My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.  I remember him from college as funny and brilliant.

Ah Bruce...literally a lifetime of memories. Little League, street football, riding bikes...crashing bikes, J.E.R.K, paper routes. Countless others. Your wedding. Spending my vacation moving you to St Louis. And knowing that even though after that it was years in between meetings, it took all of a moment to pick it up again.

And now no more chances to share more. 

I see you have made your mark with the people you lived and worked with, not surprising. I'm glad that your spark, generosity and uniqueness will live on through them.

I will miss you my friend. Until we meet again.

Bruce always spoke to me. It's hard to believe he's no longer with us. I pray that God blesses him family and friends with understanding, love, and comfort.

What  a  wonderful experience it has been  to  have known Bruce  Never have I  had an  employer like Bruce , he cared as  much  for  us ( his  employees  as he did  the  customers We  must  keep his values  alive ,  I  will always  cherish  my time  as part of the HDIS  family, Thanks  Bruce.

Bruce was such a humanitarian and lived his life as he wish. I remember when he went to Pamplona, Spain to participate on the Running of the Bulls. He took a chance to hire me and it lasted 17 great years. He loved his family and his HDIS family. I am going to miss him!!

Working for Bruce has been such a pleasure.   His love for our customers and his employees was something I have never had any where else I have worked.  He was a great man and will be greatly missed by all that met him.  HDIS will never be the same.
