Betty Jean Rigney (Blankley) (Hart) Born May 5, 1928 and left this life on January 14, 2018. Beloved daughter of the Orvis and Eva Hart. Dear sister of Rausa Lee, Shirley Dean and Joann (Billie) Married to Joseph Blankley and later to Max Rigney. Dear mother of Linda (Steve Haumesser) McClain and Carolyn (the late Rich) Fels. Grandmother of Heath McClain, Bret (Jennifer) Fels and Craig (Liz) Fels. Dear great-grandmother of Daisy-Rayn McClain, Maddie and Jack Fels and Cori and Brett Fels. Dear great-great-grandmother of Ember-Lynn.
Betty had a long and colorful life and was full of life. She was a loyal friend. She worked in a small arms and ammunition factory, was a secretary, an assembler at White Rodgers, an OASIS Children's reading tutor, a widowed persons counselor and ombudsman advocator, a professional clown called La Dee Da, participated in a Presidential campaign against drugs coloring book in her clown persona, was a singer in a group that put on skits and visited nursing homes, was a receptionist night operator at a senior living facility and could dance, roller skate and ice skate a particularly high lead. Betty loved a good joke, long rides, music, movies, puzzles, word games, video games and clipping recipes and sayings.
She loved her family and was an extensive reader.
Visitation to be held at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 Noon. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.hoffmeistersouthcounty.com.
