Barbara was a nurse for 62 years and spent the greater part of her career at Mercy Hospital starting two weeks after it first opened. From surgical nurse, to maternity, to physician referral. Barbara loved what she did.
Barbara’s greatest passion was for helping people. She volunteered over the years for Mid America Transplant Association, the Mercy Hospital gift shop, the mammogram van and Cancer Center.
Barbara was deeply committed to her faith in God and to her Church.
Barbara was a great friend, from her early days at St. Gabriel’s, to her friends from Nerinx Hall and St. Johns Nursing School. Barbara treasured her friendships that spanned over 75 years.
Most of all Barbara was a devoted mother, proud grandmother and “GG” who loved cooking and spending time together with her family. She will be greatly missed.
