Dear John, Ellen and family,

I was so sad to learn of your parents passing. I loved them very much. 

Your parents were two of the most imfluential and loving people in my life. They were our neighbors for over twenty years and  taught me how not to be afraid of dogs, how to not be afraid of using your good dishes on a week night, and of making me feel valued and loved. Ann would always ask me to play their piano while fixing dinner. She would always want to know about my life before telling you about hers. 

They will live in my heart forever.

What a lovely woman Ann was! I was blessed to have Stan Abrams as my Skipper in the Sea Scouts when I was growing up, and he married Ann. They were my favorate couple, and my friends. Stan helped me  through some rough times growing up, and I always felt he and Ann were  there for me and cared. He was my mentor and I thought he was a very kind, thoughtful, generous, and wonderful man. Ann matched that. Stan and Ann seemed like the "just right" couple. I think I fell in love with Ann at an early age, She reminded me of actress June Allyson, who seemed so pleasant as a person that I admired so much.  I visited with both of them in 2020, and then with Ann at Thanksgiving time in 2021. I miss them both, and believe they were a blessing, and a gift for me to know and care for. 

Ann and I spent over 40 years getting to know each other. She sat in my chair every week while I made her more beautiful😍Then when I was finished she would say, “Is that the best you can do?” YES! She liked to challenge me on a weekly basis but that was just her way of saying how much she loved me. She knew I wasn’t just her hairstylist but also her confidant. She shared so much with me about her beautiful family and how she always gave her opinion to all of them even if it was unsolicited 😃Yes! We had many teachable moments that helped her understand the importance of others opinions. She always told me I had a very old soul and that must be why I understood her. It was my pleasure to have known Ann for the good and kind person she was. I know we will all truly miss her but she’s where she wants to be, with Stan. I spoke with her a  couple weeks ago she told me that it was time to go. The beauty of her lively, funny and good soul will live on in her loved ones forever. God bless all of you! We were saddened to learn of the passing of “Friend” Ann and have very fond memories of her and Uncle Stan that we will cherish and remember.  With love - Marty, Jim & Julie Gross

When Allyn and I were very young, mom wanted to make a quick trip to the grocery store for one item.  She said we were old enough to be left alone, but we could not open the door to anyone.  We promised. She also told Aunt Ann to come and check on us since she lived next door. Aunt Ann came over and knocked.  We yelled through the door that we couldn’t open the door.  She stood in front of the big picture window in the living room so we could see that it was her and told us to let her in.  We said that mom said not to open the door for anyone.  Aunt Ann replied that if we didn’t let her in she would go home and get her key to our house.  And that’s what she did. Sher Stalker
