Edward Richard Wilkinson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Edward Wilkinson, 84 years of age, on October 10, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late Sabina Cotolese and Ernest Maynard Wilkinson, brother to the late Violet Wilkinson, and uncle to his late niece Sandra. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his children Lorne (Maija), Rosalie, Sheila (Tommy), Diane (Scott), Neil (Charu), and by his many grandchildren: Elora, Kane, Locke, Jessica, Evan, Ashley, Isabella, Calista, and Olivia. He will be remembered by his former wife, Alice, niece Jo-ann (Mark), and nephew John.

He will also be missed by his fellow veterans and Greenfield Park Branch 94 Legion members. Eddy served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and had been a cherished member of the Legion for 59 years.

A long-time employee of “OE, Office Equipment”, (he loved fixing typewriters), he often enjoyed travelling for work to James Bay. Once retired, Eddy most enjoyed his long walks around Montreal, joining in the Remembrance Day parades, fundraising, volunteering in his community, including the Sick and Visiting Committee for many years, and spending time with his 16-year-old cat “Socks”.

Family will receive condolences Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Collins Clarke MacGillivary White Funeral Home, 307 Riverside, Saint-Lambert. Due to COVID, visitation is limited to 25 people at a time. Service to be held at 4:00 pm for family.
