Beloved wife of Oscar for 62 years. Dear mother of Mark (Cheryl), Marina (Barry), and Robert (Casey). Proud grandmother of Bradley, Kirstyn, Kyle, and Katelynn. She also leaves her siblings Grace (late Fred), Ann (late Steve), Nancy (late Joe), and Richard (Alison), as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Frank (late Margaret).
Dorothy taught for more than 25 years on the South Shore. She achieved her university degree with honours and several scholarships. She was an avid traveller and enjoyed many trips abroad to Europe, England, Japan, and more recently Barbados.
She loved to cycle and in her younger years belonged to the Hostelling Club CYH in Montreal, where she met Oscar on a bicycle. She and Oscar went on many wonderful cycling trips with the CYH. In her younger years too, she was a great jitterbug dancer, for which she won many prizes.
She enjoyed going to the lake and loved swimming, something she continued to do in her later years. She was also quite keen on doing crossword and cryptic puzzles, the latter at which she excelled. Dorothy was a hard worker and she always had a very positive outlook. She will be greatly missed and will be fondly remembered for her loving kindness and generosity.
A memorial service will be held at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Homes, Dignity Memorial, (307 Rue Riverside, Saint-Lambert) on Friday August 27th, 2021 at 11:30am.
