Dearest Debbie,

It's hard to believe you are really gone. Chris and I miss you so much, it gets tougher each passing day that we walk around the house and you're not there to talk to anymore. As hard as it is, we take solace in knowing you do not have to suffer anymore. Your memory will live on in your 3 wonderful children, and let me just say you did an amazing job with them. Thank you for always being there for Chris, and know that I will take very good care of him. We love you so much, and we will never ever forget the memories we shared together.

I always admired how strong you were, given some of the very tough challenges that life threw at you. Mom was always saying how brave you were, and I agree.
One consolation for all of us is that you are with Dad and Mom now and in their loving arms.

I will miss you so much, you were such a wonderful aunt. I'll always remember  the times when you would take us shopping when we were little, and how we would visit you each summer and Christmas in Montreal.   I think about you often, and still can't bring myself to delete our scrabble games; all eleven of them still sit there on my computer...

My mother above all loved her family, she loved her family so much that even when she didn’t have very much, she would give her children whatever she could if it meant we would be better off. 

She spent countless hours with us as children caressing our heads and sneaking in hugs whenever she could. 

A perfect day for her was when she had all of her children and grandchildren in the same room with her. 

She loved her family so much that although I moved out to Toronto she would call me several times a week and would never forget to tell me she loved me when saying goodbye

She loved me enough to stay awake into the late hours of the night for a 2nd grade project drawing pictures of pandas because I forgot about it until the day before it was due.

She loved us so much that inspite of being disabled and barely being able to walk-  jumped off the couch and ran to hug me when I told her I was pregnant with her second grandchild. 
I already miss my mother but we all know she is smiling down on us all right now and wanting us to know how happy and healthy she is in heaven with her parents and daughter Brittany.
I am thankful for that, Love you mom. 


Mom, 

I don't' even know where to begin... you were a force to be reckoned with and when you wanted something more than likely you were going to get it. That determination and persistence were your defining qualities and made you a worthy opponent! I know our relationship wasn't perfect, but I know it was because we both cared so much. You always said I take after dad but I think I am more like you, I too have that determination and persistence and I am proud and thankful for those gifts. 

You were a great mother and friend. Your humor and wit was unmatched and you were "smart as a whip". I cherish all of our conversations that I once took for granted. 

I wish you had more time, I wish you could watch your grandchildren grow up and like nanny have great-grandchildren. It doesn't seem fair but the only solace I can have is knowing you are in a better place. A place without dialysis, and walkers and pills. A place with Nanny and Papa and Brittney.

I didn't know where to start because I didn't want to have an end. I love you and miss you more and more each day and there will always be a part of me missing now that you are not here.
