She leaves behind her loving sons David (Joy), Ian (Nathalie) and Ross (Katie) as well as her grandchildren, Andrew, Kristin, Shawn, Jessica, Ashley and Alex and the most recent member to the Forbes clan, great granddaughter Abigail.
She also leaves behind her dear sister Joan, her nieces and nephew and their extended families.
Barbara was born in Montreal, studied at McGill University (Arts 45) and eventually moved to Ottawa. She worked at Bell Canada for a short period and met the love of her life Stuart Forbes. They moved back to Montreal and eventually to Saint Bruno where they built a home and raised their family. Barbara was very involved with the United Church Women (UCW) helping the local church as well as many charities surrounding the area. Barbara also enjoyed spending time at their second home at Owl’s Head, where the family met as often as possible.
A celebration of life will be held on a future date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Mount Bruno United Church would be appreciated.
