It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Alice Rose Poppe, peacefully in her home on December 26th, 2023 at the age of 87. She was the beloved mother of Lorne (Maija), Rosalie, Sheila (Tommy), Diane (Scott), Neil (Charu) and devoted grandmother to Elora, Kane, Locke, Jessica, Evan, Ashley, Isabella, Calista, and Olivia.
She is survived by her siblings Melvin and Lois, and will be missed by her nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Leslie and Grace, and her former husband Edward Wilkinson.
She grew up on Springfield Street in Greenfield Park and later moved back to Greenfield Park to raise her family. We have fond memories of her working at the GFPK Public Library and hair salon, as well as her love of knitting and crafts, especially her seasonal knitted tea towels that she always gave to family and friends. She was a strong and resilient woman who took great care of her family.
Visitation to take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at Collins Clarke McGillivray White Funeral Home, Dignity Memorial, 307 Rue Riverside, Saint-Lambert, QC followed by a Memorial Service.
