Timothy Gabriel McCarthy, age 87, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He was born on July 1, 1936, to parents John and Hannah McCarthy. Loving husband of 66 years to Sally L. McCarthy. Father to Maureen (the late Michael) Maurice, Timothy (Rhonda) McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy, and Daniel (Kimberly) McCarthy. Cherished grandfather to Emma Maurice, Andrew Maurice, Jack McCarthy, Kevin (Liz) McCarthy, Hannah McCarthy, Jacob (Samantha) Simons, Mary Kate McCarthy, Sarah McCarthy, and Angelia Swain. Great-grandfather to Liam Simons. Dear brother to Maura Rynne, Betty O'Sullivan, and Patrick (Joanne) McCarthy. Timothy was preceded in death by his 7 siblings and his granddaughter Natalie Swain. Timothy will be missed by many family and friends.
Timothy enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren. He was a Navy Veteran and truly enjoyed his local Am Vets and all the friends he made there. Timothy’s favorite hobby was his love of pigeon racing. He was most proud of the 40 years he owned and operated the Cost Plus Eastern Market Wine Shop in Detroit.
Mass of Resurrection will take place on Monday November 27, 2023, he will In-State beginning at 11:30 am, until time of Mass at 12:00 Noon, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 22412 Overlake Street, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48080.
Visitation will take place Sunday November 26, 2023, from 2:00 - 8:00 pm, with Military Honors at 7:00 pm, followed by a Scripture Service, at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
