Hard to believe that the Kozak family has been a part of our lives for more than 35 years.  After hearing the sad news of Mr. Kozak's sudden passing, it is hard to separate out the emotions and convey our thoughts and prayers to the family during their difficult time.  Mr. Kozak was and will be remembered as a great man, husband, dad, friend, teacher, coach and role model.  He was truly a genuine person who loved life, his family, teaching, coaching, and helping people.  As we visited over the years, he took time to sit down, chat about what was going on and shared many great thoughts, memories and laughs.  He positively impacted many people's lives and will be missed by many.  I am very grateful for having the opportunity to have known Mr. Kozak, whose positive personal characteristics and genuine qualities has been an influence on who I am today. I'm very sorry for your loss. I had Mr. Kozak as my gym teacher at Rogers Elementary and he was always one of my favorites. He always came up with fun and unique games for the kids to play, including those for "Field Day" a day of outdoor games at the end of the school year. I also remember Mr. Kozak coming to classrooms over the years and teaching the "Second Step" program, you could just tell he really cared about the students. One spot in Michigan that is on the list for my wife and I to visit is West Branch as I remember Mr. Kozak talking about the place often and how much he enjoyed it.

Mr. Kozak is a permanent part of countless Shorians childhood memories.   My thoughts and prayers are with you Kozak Family.

So sorry to hear of your loss Remembering great Lakeshore moments shared with Ted over the years we worked together.....especially 6th grade camp with his crazy rendition of the chicken dance and square dancing with the kids  He was a great teacher and friend,,,I am sadden by the loss and will pray for the family.

To Ted's Family...Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss. Ted and I played Pony League baseball against each other in 1962. We later coached together at Lake Shore in the mid eighties. He was a great man and coach and a  positive role model for all his students and athletes.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I adored this man from elementary school on. We crossed paths several times after graduation at the ball fields and out and about. He was "always" smiling and what a great smile he had. You are all in my prayers. God Bless.

Dear Sue and family, 
I was saddened by the news of the sudden death of Ted. I will miss our conversations, either on your side of the street or mine or even at the middle of St. Gertrude Street. There are three chores that I do that will always remind me of him: putting the garbage out either on Tuesday evenings or early Wednesday mornings, cutting my lawn and shoveling snow. These are the times that Ted will say "HI" or ask me about my daughter Angel's school, my work, my retirement, etc.
