Living on the West side now I just heard about Shirley today when my daughter, Jennifer Vincent Bradley, sent me a copy of the Obituary. Shirley and Dillon were close friends and devoted friends of the Brethern of Paul Revere Lodge #538 where Dillon was a Past Master. Dillon and his entire family are in our prayers. We are So Sorry for your Loss.

Mom. I am back at home coming from a day that I thought would not come for a long time. It seems like a bad dream to me but the pain reminds me that my heart is broken and this is real. I can go on knowing that I loved you so much and know that you were the best Mom anyone could have. I also know that Jesus died for all of us and one day the great reunion with you will come and oh what a day that will be. I will try to be what you taught me to be and will never let the memory of Shirley Jean Sims be forgotten.

 Shirley was like a mother to me,she always made me feel loved and accepted,as did everyone in her whole family.They are all good people. Dear Grandma. I sit here thinking about you and I am realizing how much I will miss you. I wish I would have told you more how much I love you, but I know you always knew. I will cherish the memories I have with you. From coming over to the house in Harper Woods when my Mom would kick my Dad and brothers out on Christmas so she could make her dinner. When we would stay over sometimes and waking up to you cleaning your house at 4 a.m. rearranging furniture. Knowing that you would make the best pinto beans and macaroni and tomato and I would eat so much of them both I could barely get off the chair. You devoted your life to your family and you and Grandpa both taught not only your own kids but us kids as well that family is the most important thing in the world. You were and still are the rock of the Sims family and I will miss you very much and I know one day I will see you again with a pot of those pinto beans waiting for me.
