Sharon was one of those people that I was blessed to know through her husband, Lary.

She was always caring and compassionate for Lincoln Middle School staff especially at  Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day.  She was always thinking of us.

I couldn’t believe the year my family walked the Mighty Mackinaw Bridge, there was Lary and Sharon.  She just told me a month ago, how I’d be doing that walk again soon.

Also, our son happened to be the Athlete Trainer for Lakeview High School where Sharon’s grandkids attended. Small world.

May you find peace and comfort during this difficult time and share joy in her memories.

Sharon has been an inspiration to our family with her loving spirit and kindness. She has left a beautiful mark on our hearts forever. She has been a wonderful friend to us all and partner to our PaPa. What a blessing she was. We will be reunited in heaven with her and she will be with us until we join her someday. ❤️ Love you so very much our dear Sharon ❤️

November 1993….our first baby Carly born 5 weeks early.  Being so premature, we were very careful to limit bringing her out in public.  But there was  NO way we weren’t bringing her over to see these special “honorary grandparents”! Pat, your mom and dad touched so many of us with their Love and guidance over the years. My sincere condolences are offered to Shannon, Patrick, Colleen, Chuck, Kathy and Jack and all of your families upon the transition of dear Sharon, the most generous person I've ever known over the past 60+ years . . . generous with her warm smiles and happy laughter, her kindness and inspiration, her vibrant and creative personality, her willingness to help others lovingly in any situation . . . generous with her many talents, her heart and her love.

It is hard and painful to imagine the world without Sharon’s bright light.   I benefitted from her loving presence for 60 years and will now depend on the memories to light my way.  My love & condolences to Colleen & Danny, Patrick, Shannon & Joe, Kathy & Ron,  Chuck & Pat, Kaylee, Shane, Jack, and all who loved her and will cherish her always as all the Zerbels will.

I've known Sharon since we were in school.  All her life she has had the kindest soul.  She helped me in the greatest way recently with her love and advice.  I will miss having lunch with this beautiful friend.  Sharon was an extraordinary woman.

I am so shocked to hear that my dear friend, Sharon, has gone to her reward.  Sharon and I met 15 years ago at grief counseling when we both lost our husbands.  We became instant friends.  Sharon was one of the nicest people I have ever met.  She had such a positive attitude going through what she faced in the last months.  I was so hopeful that she would conquer this disease.  I will miss her so very much.  She was such a great person to know.  Sharon you are reunited with Larry.  May you rest in peace. My condolences to your family and to Jack and his family.

I’ve known Sharon for a very long time. Met at Grosse Pointe schools. Then worked together at R Hirt Co . In eastern market. Sharon was such a sweet loving person. I remember all the wonderful cakes she would bring into work. Always to celebrate someone’s  birthday. She was a  friend to many.  I will miss you my friend , Sharon Shelby . Rest in the arms of angels,  Rest now you Fought a tough battle, you will be miss by many.  See you later Sharon.

I am so sad to hear of Sharon’s passing. Truly the sweetest and kindest lady.  I will miss her beautiful smile and kindness. Heaven is having an Irish party right now

Sharon was a once in a lifetime soul. She was so loved by all she came in contact with.  “Loving and giving” would be the words we would choose to describe her. Always a beautiful smile, an open home, heart and arms.  She is relieved of her earthly suffering  and in a wonderful place with her lord and savior.
