Marie was as fiery as her unmistakable red hair. She was bold, authentic, and unapologetically herself. She was a loving daughter and devoted sister. But most importantly, she was Mimi — a role she embraced with unwavering dedication and love.
She always put others' needs before her own, never expecting anything in return. Her generosity and kindness were boundless, leaving a never-fading mark on the lives of all who were fortunate to call her a friend. Marie’s passion for family was exemplified during the holidays, where she reveled in the joy of having her loved ones gathered around — sharing stories, baking treats, exchanging gifts, and laughing endlessly with one another. Everyone could always count on her to bring an extra bit of flair to every holiday as she never missed the opportunity to pull out her festive accessory collection complete with headpieces, socks, and jewelry.
An adventurer at heart, Marie never failed to live life to the fullest and was always ready to explore new horizons. Whether she was hopping a plane to a distant country, embarking on a journey to another state, or simply uncovering an interesting spot in the next town over, she embraced the world with an open spirit — and occasionally a suitcase full of Pepsi and flip flops in every color imaginable.
Even in her passing, Marie’s spirit, strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends will remain etched in the hearts of all those she touched.
She is survived by her sister, Brenda (John) Dombrowski and nieces, Megan Dombrowski and Allie (David) Poe; uncle Michael Gerber and aunt Theresa Gerber; and many cousins and close friends who will forever cherish the memories they created with her. She was preceded in death by parents, Friedrich and Marie Bernice Gerber also by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
