Margaret was born in Detroit, MI on May 24, 1920. She graduated from Denby High School. Margaret was married to her beloved Harvey on June 12, 1943, they were married 72 years before his passing in 2015. She was the matriarch of the family; she was the caregiver to all. She was known as the professional worrier of the family, always making sure everyone got home safely and was well fed. She loved her Irish roots, glass of Bailey’s and often toted she should say her rosary in less than 15 minutes. She was blessed with an extraordinary memory, and made a lasting impression of everyone she met.
Margaret is survived by her children, Mary Ann (Robert) Werschky, James (Christine) Donahue and Patricia (Dennis) Lefever, her 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, her sister, Nancy Johnson Hicks, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harvey James Donahue, her parents, Thomas and Gertrude Stackpoole, her siblings, including her infant twin sister, Mary Rita, Joseph Stackpoole, Robert Stackpoole, Thomas Stackpoole, William Stackpoole, Shirley Calcaterra (Stackpoole).
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 17th from 3pm-8pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores 48081. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 18th at 10:00 am (Instate 9:30 am) at St. Basil’s Catholic Church, 22851 Lexington Ave, Eastpointe, 48021. Burial will follow the funeral at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Cranberry Park at Shorepointe Employee Appreciation Fund - 26101 Jefferson Ave. St Clair Shores, 48101. The family of Margaret Donahue wishes to thank the staff at Cranberry Park for their love and dedication to both Margaret and Harvey during the recent years.
